Propolis has been used by humans for health and healing since ancient times and is widely regarded for its anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties. This resinous substance is gathered and used by honeybees to disinfect, waterproof, and protect the hive. Commonly referred to as ‘bee glue’, bees use this sticky glue-like substance to seal up cracks and crevices and keep out intruders. Check out the National Institute of Health (NIH) for numerous published studies on the healing powers of propolis. Some research has even indicated that propolis may be a useful resource that could help fight against the COVID-19 pandemic according to an abstract in Science Direct, Volume 131 on November 2020.
