ANNUAL HONEY COMPETITION & HONEY DESSERT CONTEST

Buzz on over to Chatsworth on Saturday, October 7th for The Valley Hive’s Annual Honey Competition & Honey Dessert Contest

How to Enter

All beekeepers are invited to enter the honey competition. You will need to provide two 8 ounce jars of honey - one with a label, one without a label. The jars need to be dropped off to The Valley Hive by Saturday, September 23rd by 5pm.

Are you an award winning baker? Then enter to win our Honey Dessert Contest! To enter, we will need (at least) 50 bite size samples which will be given out during the competition. This is a people's choice contest, so the more samples, the better!  Your entry needs to be at The Valley Hive between 4:45pm & 5pm on the day of the event - Saturday, October 7th. You can fill out the honey dessert contest form hereNote: You must complete this form by Saturday, September 23rd at 5pm to enter the contest.

Honey & More

This annual fundraising event is free to the community! Besides honey and dessert tasting, we will also have food available for purchase as well as a cash bar featuring a special selection of honey inspired cocktails! Food for the event will be provided by LACBA member Doug Noland and his team from Outback Catering. We are excited to see what he's cooking up for us! Meals will be available at the event and can also be purchased online prior to the event. Pre order your meal here. Ordering early guarantees that you will get a meal at the event. A portion of the funds collected will go towards our fundraiser. Vegetarian meals are available upon request.

Join the Fun

We're so excited about what we have planned for this year's event. Here's a sneak preview of our line up! We've got live music, a mead making workshop, a honey sommelier, a baking demonstration, and even a fire dancer! And, that's not all!! But in order to find out, you will have to come to the event and see!

Help Save the Bees

Each year, we donate money from the event to a charity or nonprofit that works to protect and save honeybees. This year we are excited to announce that all the proceeds from the Honey Competition will be donated to the Los Angeles County Beekeepers Association (LACBA), a 501c3 non-profit that has been helping beekeepers and educating our community for 150 years. This bee club donates thousands of dollars to honeybee research every year, and we are excited to be given the opportunity to help them save these precious pollinators we all love and cherish. You can help us raise funds for the event. All of the honey donated by local beekeepers will be raffled off and the money will be donated by LACBA. We've also got some great auction items coming in as well. We are still taking donations, so reach out to us if you would like to donate! Every little bit helps, and by supporting our bee cause you too can make a difference. If you would like to donate directly to LACBA, click here to donate to the LACBA fund now!
